Gary Sutton - Managing Partner
Gary founded VAR Technology Finance (VAR) in 1988 after a successful career in the technology industry. From 1988-2019, Gary led VAR to be the largest leasing and finance company within the technology finance channel and the 5th largest independent equipment finance and leasing company in the U.S. by annual volume of financing. At the time of its sale to People’s United Bank in 2019, VAR had revenues approaching $200 million and had provided financing for over 40,000 businesses throughout the U.S. including many major corporations and businesses of all sizes.
Gary and his son, Jordan, are managing partners at TOV Lending. He is also the founder and CEO of Sutton International, a charitable organization that provides support and resources for various non-profit organizations.
Gary enjoys traveling, golf, tennis, hiking, and especially spending time with family. Gary and his wife Sheree have three happily married children actively involved in various entrepreneurial endeavors ranging from the financial, film, and technology industries. The Suttons also have five amazing grandchildren whom they enjoy very much.
Jordan Sutton - Managing Partner
Jordan joined VAR Technology Finance (VAR) officially in 2008 and helped steer the family business through the financial crisis successfully. During his time at VAR, the company experienced significant growth, expanding from approximately $50 million to $200 million in revenue. After successfully supporting VAR throughout the sale process, Jordan transitioned into the investment banking sector, where he focused on building relationships with business owners and strategically positioning them for successful exits.
In addition to his business endeavors, Jordan and his wife Andrea have dedicated the past 14 years to planting and pastoring a faith community.
Jordan has been married to his wife Andrea for 15 years and lives in East Dallas (the best Dallas) with their 4 kids: Grace, Eden, Judah & Naomi. They love hosting people in their home, dance parties, great coffee, country music, and mountain biking.
Benedikt Langer - General Manager
Benedikt joined the Sutton Family in 2021, supporting the family's diverse investment strategies and philanthropic initiatives. After a stint in the Treasury Department of a leading Fortune 500 company and the largest power generator in the United States, he re-joined the Sutton Family to champion real estate investors in their endeavors.
Originally from Germany, and his time as a missionary in Peru, Benedikt has worked within various different cultures. For the past five years, Benedikt has lived in the United States with his wife, Sarah, and their children.
Benedikt is an avid hiker (he met his wife during a 500-mile pilgrimage), and also enjoys reading classic literature, playing soccer (football), and BBQ with family and friends.
